Savings Initiatives

Housed within a public medical school, the Center for Health Care Financing is committed to translational research and information sharing. Since being established in 1996, the Center has honed a scope of fiscal recovery and cost savings expertise, in service to its portfolio of public clients, that far surpasses what is offered by any private vendor nationally.

The Center provides multiple key savings initiatives:

  • Enhanced Medicare Identification
Our team goes beyond traditional data matching to focus on cases that fall outside some of the most sophisticated data matches.
  • Medicare Appeals
The Center helps states recover dollars where Medicare should have been the primary payer — notably for home health services.
  • Medicare Buy-in Quality Review
Center staff members audit and perform quality control activities on charges the Medicare program applies to states monthly. This initiative, to ensure that state payments of monthly premiums are accurate, has lead to the recovery of more than $250 million for 26 states and the District of Columbia.
  • Special Disability Workload Solutions
Taking on a national leadership role, the Center is resolving another long-standing systemic error made by the Social Security Administration.
